Dr. Franczyk is a board certified Pediatrician with 20 + years of experience. He attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine with his residency at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He started in practice in Delaware County, PA and now found a medical home in Wilmington Delaware when he merged practices with Delaware Pediatrics. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Medical Society of Delaware, and the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Matt Gotthold is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and Hahnemann University Medical College. Dr. Gotthold completed his pediatric residency training in the Christiana Care/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children/Thomas Jefferson University program. He is a Board-Certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Jason Hann-Deschaine is a board certified pediatrician with over 20 years experience. He attended Dartmouth College’s Geisel School of Medicine and then finished at Brown University’s Alpert Medical School. Following graduation, he moved to Delaware to pursue his pediatric residency at AI dupont Children’s Hospital for Children and Thomas Jefferson University. He was named Chief Resident of Pediatrics at duPont prior to joining Delaware Pediatrics in 2004. He joined Dr. Matthew Gotthold in 2004 and went on to lead the development of our Appoquinimink office.

Dr. Scott (‘Pat’) is a native Midwesterner.  She received her undergraduate education at Central Michigan University and attended medical school at The University of Michigan, graduating Cum Laude.  Following medical school, Pat and her husband settled in Delaware and she completed her pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Pat was then Chief Pediatric Resident at the Medical Center of Delaware.  She was asked to stay on the teaching staff and provided clinical care and medical student and pediatric resident education in the outpatient setting. Once her two sons were preschoolers, Pat joined Dr. Gotthold in private practice in North Wilmington. She is a Board-Certified pediatrician.

Dr. Walter is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, who joined our practice in April 2014. She comes to our practice from Nemours Children’s Hospital with over 7 years of experience as an Attending Physician in hospital medicine and outpatient pediatrics. In addition, she served as the director of the Enuresis Clinic, and was a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Thomas Jefferson University. She actively participated in the education of medical students and pediatric residents. Dr. Walter earned a Bachelor of Science at Rutgers, the State University of NJ and a Master of Education at the University of Virginia. She obtained her medical degree from the Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her pediatric residency training at Nemours Children’s Hospital/Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Walter and her husband have four children, and in her spare time she enjoys exercising, reading, spending time outdoors, and watching her children’s sports and activities. Dr. Walter enjoys seeing patients of all ages, but has a special interest in medically complex children.

Erin completed he undergraduate degree in biology at Temple University and later obtained her Master’s degree in Health Sciences at Drexel University. Through her graduate training she worked as a paramedic in New Castle County. Erin is a faculty member with Drexel University in the physician assistant Master’s program serving as preceptor and mentor for student. She spearheaded the integration of the Medical Home Model of care for Drexel University program. Erin has worked in pediatrics for more ten years with an emphasis in mental health. Erin is a board certified physician assistant.

Christian Ruth, M.M.S. PA-C, is a Delaware local who graduated from Arcadia University's physician assistant program in May of 2020. He joined our practice in August of 2022. He graduated from the University of Delaware's Honors Program in 2018, studying Biology with a minor in Spanish prior to his training. He is fluent in Spanish. Christian has experience rotating through the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and has worked exclusively in pediatrics as a physician assistant. He has been a life long Delawarean and holds a passion for the state as well as its growing need for access to excellent children's healthcare. In his free time Christian loves traveling to Spanish-speaking countries, spending time with his daughter, Isabelle, and spending time with his cat, Carmen.

Barbara graduated from University of Delaware in 2006 with my undergraduate nursing degree. From there she worked in NYC, Northern NJ and A.I. duPont Hospital for Children doing pediatric hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant nursing for 8 years before returning to school. Barbara went back to school to earn my MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner at University of Delaware and graduated 2016. She has worked in pediatric primary care at Health Care for Children in Elkton, MD. My professional interests include newborn and infant care, postpartum mental health for mothers, and patient and family education. Personally, Barb is married and have 3 children (William age 4, Noelle age 2.5 and Ethan age 10 months old) who are all patients of DE pediatrics!

Jill graduated from the University of Delaware with an undergraduate degree in Nursing and completed a Masters’s Degree program as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She worked as an Advanced Practice Nurse evaluating and caring for medically fragile infants and children prior to joining Delaware Pediatrics. Prior to completing her graduate degree, Jill worked as a nurse in critical care and dialysis. Jill has served on multiple committees, including at the state level. Jill lives locally and is involved in many activites with her family.
